Brand + packaging
Funki
A youth-focused tech accessories brand built from the ground up: identity, packaging system, custom icons and 3D renders produced before a single physical sample existed.
Challenge
Funki launched into a crowded tech accessories market where most retail packaging looks the same. Their range included Bluetooth speakers, cables and earphones. They needed a brand identity that would stand out on shelf, connect with younger consumers and work consistently across every product.
One complication: production artwork had to be finalised before physical samples existed.
Approach
Brand identity
I built a brand with real energy. Logo, colour palette and packaging structure designed to grab attention in a retail environment and hold it.
Icon system
Custom icons to communicate technical specs clearly across different device categories and pack formats.
3D visualisation
No physical samples meant no photography. I produced detailed 3D product visualisations in Cinema 4D so Funki and their retail partners had something concrete to approve, present and plan around.
Scalability
The system was built to grow. New product categories and international markets without starting from scratch each time.
Result
Funki went to market with a brand identity that looked nothing like the competition. The packaging worked consistently from cables to speakers. Production files were clean and press-ready. The 3D renders meant retailers could see the full range before a single box came off the line.
The brand is now live in South Africa with a system ready to follow the range wherever it goes.
