Challenge

Glen is an auto technician with close to 30 years of hands-on experience. He built his business through word of mouth, repeat customers and a reputation for honest work. Solid foundation. One gap: no logo, no website, no brand identity of any kind.

Anyone searching for a reliable mechanic in his area would scroll straight past him. He needed a professional presence that matched how good he actually is.

Approach

Strategy

I started with positioning before touching any design tools. Mapped out his services, identified his ideal customers and worked out how to differentiate him from the generic options people find online.

Brand identity

Two distinct logo concepts, each tied to his values: straightforward, skilled, no-nonsense. We reviewed them together and chose the direction that felt most like him.

Copywriting

Every line written to reflect Glen's voice. Approachable and confident without the jargon. Structured with local SEO in mind, using the kind of plain language people actually type when searching for an auto service.

Website build

Custom HTML and CSS from scratch. No templates, no page builders. Clean, fast-loading, mobile-responsive. I added an interactive service area map so visitors can immediately see if Glen covers their location. The kind of detail that removes doubt before someone picks up the phone.

Result

Scotz Auto Services launched with a brand identity that looks and feels like it belongs alongside any established workshop. The logo is clean and confident. The website is fast, fully responsive and built to rank for the searches that matter.

The interactive map is one of the most practical features on the site. Instead of describing a service area in text, visitors see at a glance whether Glen works in their suburb. That single detail removes friction and builds trust before any conversation starts.

For a small business owner who had never had an online presence, this project delivered a complete foundation: brand identity, copywriting and a custom-built website that works as a real business tool.
